Turtle Back Zoo Ticket Program

Thank you for your interest in our Turtle Back Zoo Ticket Program.  Below is important information regarding ticket usage and benefits.

Ticket Details:

• Type of Ticket: General Admission

• Usage:  Each ticket is valid for one-time use only. 

• Return Policy: Tickets must be handed in at the zoo and are not returned to the library.

Allocation:

• Household Limit: Each household is eligible to receive 2 general admission tickets per calendar year.

How to Obtain Tickets:

• Requesting Tickets: Call the Roxbury Public Library to inquire about ticket availability.

• Availability: Tickets are subject to availability.  .

• Validity: Patrons may use their tickets any day that the zoo is open. Please check the zoo’s website for current hours. Tickets expire on December 31, 2024.

• Zoo Admission: The tickets cover general admission only and may not include access to special events or exhibits that require additional fees.

About Turtle Back Zoo

Turtle Back Zoo is located in West Orange, New Jersey. Situated on 20 acres in the South Mountain Reservation, it is part of the South Mountain Recreation Complex, which is managed as part of the Essex County Park System.  

The zoo features a diverse array of exhibits, including: the Black Bear Area, Reptile Center, Sea Lions and Touch Tank, Big Cat Country, Amazing Asia, Island Giants, African Adventure and Shores of Africa.  There are several attractions at the zoo, including a Train Ride, Carousel, and Playground.
